$50,000 in grants for Kawana Junior Sport

Kawana MP, Jarrod Bleijie has announced that an LNP government will commit $50,000 in grants to be shared between ten local junior sporting clubs.

Mr Bleijie said COVID-19 had presented considerable challenges for our local sporting clubs with reduced season lengths and a reduction in numbers.

“We know how important it is to get kids into sport and keep them active and healthy,” he said.

“Our local sporting groups are run by passionate and dedicated volunteers who deserve all the support we can provide them.

“These grants will enable the clubs to each spend $5000 on what they consider to be the priority – it may be more equipment, improved facilities, or perhaps helping out families that can’t afford registration fees because of the impacts of COVID.”

The ten local junior sporting clubs set to benefit from this announcement include:

CURRIMUNDI UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB INC
BUDDINA UNITED SOCCER CLUB INC
KAWANA FOOTBALL CLUB INC
CALOUNDRA FOOTBALL CLUB INC
KAWANA PARK JUNIOR AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL CLUB INC
KAWANA JUNIOR RUGBY LEAGUE INC
CALOUNDRA SEAHAWKS HOCKEY CLUB INC
KAWANA SLSC NIPPERS
WINDANSEA BOARDRIDERS CLUB INC
BROTHERS RUGBY SUNSHINE COAST INC

Mr Bleijie said the grants would be a real shot in the arm for junior sport in Kawana.

“In the midst of a tough year, this is a morale boosting commitment for our local clubs and will provide some additional financial support just at the right time,” Mr Bleijie said.

Each of the ten clubs will receive a $5000 grant if the LNP are elected to government on October 31.
